Bruce Lublin of Homerica Mortgage Corporation in White Plains, NY needed a new logo and a new website. He had been using one of those industry-wide financial web design companies that provide their clients with boiler-plate templates. But the boiler-plate designs offered left a lot to be desired. Margaret created a new logo:
as well as the new website. She also wrote the copy on the Homerica Mortgage Corporation site, she trained Bruce’s staff on blogging, and she created a page for Bruce’s homerica.com site to send people to his new site:
The result? Search in Google for the term “mortgage company white plains new york” and – as of July 10, 2012 – Homerica Mortgage comes up as the number one search result. Blogging for Bruce’s staff is a work in progress. They have to fit it in while attending to their other responsibilities. As such, when searching in Google for the term “mortgages new york,” Homerica Mortage comes up at 31 in the search results. It’s not page one but we’re happy with 31 for now as we aspire to do better. Being number 31 is far better than not showing up in Google search results at all — which is exactly what was happening while Homerica Mortgage’s website was using the old boiler plate design from the industry-wide financial web design company.
