Madison CT’s singer/songwriter  Kailin Garrity chose Margaret’s Folly to create a cohesive online marketing plan. Margaret created an affordable website for Kailin using open source software that allows Kailin to edit and update her site easily without incurring costly website maintenance fees. Additionally, the site includes a blog which allows Kailin to communicate with her fans while changing her site often… enabling both her fans and Google to find her site easily. Kailin is also utilizing a free and open source e-commerce solution to sell her latest EP, Be Free. And she is using an online content management solution to upload photos to a Flash-based slideshow – again without incurring costly site maintenance fees. But perhaps best of all, Kailin’s site utilizes a free program to create and maintain a jukebox of her current songs and a Flash-based events calendar. All of these free and open source software programs keep this budding musician’s website affordable. Margaret also designed Kailin’s MySpace page incorporating the same designs on both sites for a cohesive look and feel.
